My phone now only has the iTunes screen up error is being shown so it won't update.

iPhone 6, iOS 10

Update iTunes to the latest version: itunes.com, choose Download.

Also, make sure nothing else is plugged into the computer - external hard drives, headphones, thumb drives, etc.
